The Flint Fury didn't have much to celebrate about after their last game.
FLINT — The Fury dropped a non-league contest, 14-6, against their city rivals, the Flint Rampage for the second straight season on May 28 at Fenton High School.
In their latest contest, the tables were turned.
The semi-pro football team responded with a 43-0 victory over the Detroit Redd Doggs in Atwood Stadium on Saturday evening.
Although it took a while for the Fury to pour on their onslaught, they never let up when things started rolling.
"It took us a little time to get warmed up and we didn't start scoring heaving until the second quarter," Fury head coach, Charles Lawler said. "From the end of the second half, they started getting familiar with themselves and started clicking a lot better."
Matt Terry threw for three touchdowns and scored a rushing touchdown to lead the group.
Leighton Smith and J'Nathan Bullock also rushed in touchdowns.
Demarkis Smith gathered an interception and returned the play for an 85-yard score.
Davonta Terry and Lamar West both added touchdown receptions on the night.
Lawler was pleased with the energy from the fresh contributors.
"We got some new athletes on the team so that's helping us out," Lawler said. "We're picking up players as we go."
The Fury will return to action next week when they travel to Monroe, Mich. to battle the Southern Michigan Timberwolves. This game will mark the team's first official league game and they hope to build off their latest win.
"The win feels good, it gave the guys a lot of confidence," said Lawler. "Hopefully we build on it next week in practice so we can start the season off right."
